Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

I have homesite with about 5 acres. My inlaws land joins our property and about 5 years ago they put in a mechanical septec tank and ask me to sign a release form, but I didn't sign it but told them they could run it off in my woods as long as they didn't sell and move. Now they're fixin to move and I wondered if legally I had a leg to stand on to make them put in a sprinkler system before they sell? Also wondered if I could request a land survey before they sell?

You cannot prevent them from selling but you can ask that they remove the septic system or upgrade it to an acceptable form. You should inform them in writing, certified mail with return receipt requested, that you are no longer going to allow the present configuration of the septic system.
