Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
My husband mother died about 11 years ago and now its a family house to her 3 sons but only my husband and i with our kids live here and pay taxes and do the fixing on it how can we go about but it in our name.

First a succession needs to be filed giving title to the heirs. At that point, you can force a sale or buy the others out. Some of the upkeep could be recouped from other heirs but there is an argument that monies you put out could be considered rent.
