Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
Inherited Family Property
My adoptive parents have both passed away and the house is mine. They had no other children. I have a 28 year old son who is my heir. Is it possible to have my husbands name added to the deed or will he only be able to live there until death or divorce?

Re: Inherited Family Property
There are various ways in LA to handle this matter depending on what you want to accomplish. You should consult an attorney to make sure your wishes are followed, especially if you do not yet have a will.
Re: Inherited Family Property
Did you have a succession done to tranfer the property to your name? If not, that is the first thing you need to do. As far as your husband, you can donate an interest in the property to him if you wish. That will give him ownership of a portion of the property. To determine what will happen to the property when you die, you should go see an attorney and have a will prepared. That way your property will go to the person you designate.
