Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

Land Division

My family has inherited 40 acreas of land . Our family makes up 1/8 of the inheritence. 8 children inhereted from parents and now it is divided amongst 8 individual families with divisions in each family ..ending up with about 20 people involved. If 1 family opts to sell their share of the estate and the other families refuse either due to lack of funds to purchase or just not wanting to sell. Can that one group force the sale or force a judge to put land up for public auction if division is not possible.
