Legal rights to right of way
I own a piece of property that was once part of a larger family owned property. The land between the highway and my property was sold to a church. Long before the family property was subdivided, there was a right of way given to some other property owners behind me because they had no access to their land. This week the church allowed the local fire department to access a pond on the church property to draw water for the fire equipment. The fire dept. has been doing time trials all week blocking access to my home via the right of way. When my son came home from work, he was told he could not use the driveway if he wanted to get home he would have to walk. The fire cheif said they were ''seizing the property'' until they were through with their time trials.

Is this legal?

There are certain times when eminent domain would kick in, but I don't think time trials are included.......there is probably more to this.
