Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
Long story short. My father owned approx 5 acres of land in Hammond, LA. After his death, it was given to his children, including me. My aunt, his sister, was the executor of the estate. She let the county take possesion of land then bought it from them. Isn't this illegal? How do I regain property that is rightfully ours?
Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

The executor is charged with making sure the wishes of the deceased are carried out. They may be reimbursed for any costs they expend for the upkeep of the property. Someone should have opened a succession and had a judgment of possession granted to the heirs. I don't know how much time has passed but you need an attorney.
