Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

A neighbor owns a dog that runs throughout the neighbor. It stays mainly at my house or another neighbor where it is fed and cared for with no objection of the owner. This has been going on for a number of years. The dog is very sick and my wife & other neighbor want to have it euthanized. They talked with the owner and she said the dog belongs to the neighborhood. If we have it euthanized what could be the legal issues.

You should contact the LASPCA and have them come out and look at the animal. If it needs to be put down, they should do it, not you.

I agree with Lambert.....call the pound or LAPAWS and they should take the animal off your hands and take care of it. "Belongs to the neighborhood" means nothing. Do what is best for the animal.
