Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

Who owns house

Father died and left his half of family home to son and upon death of mother he would be left other half of house. He was left the land house is on in will. Two other children were left other homes and property. After fathers death the other two siblings brought mother to attorney and had will changed to leave her half of home to them. The attorney told son that he has no share in home because mother amended the will. This attorney was not the family attorney normally used by parents. The home is on his land and the other two children are renting the home out. It was obviously his fathers intention for him to have home because it was on the land that was left to him same as homes left to other two siblings are on land left to them. The mother was never involved in finances or decision making, father always took care of things. There was no problems between mother and son, it is our belief she didn't know what she was doing when the will was amended. Does he have rights to home or to have them move home off of his land? If home cannot be moved, what happens?

Re: Who owns house

I think I understand. He still owns 1/2 of the house inherited from the father. If the mother is not competent, then she could not change the will. The son needs to sit with an attorney because there are too many questions unanswered. As an example, how do the other 2 children get to rent a home that is 1/2 the son's and 1/2 the mother's?
