Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

I purchased a new house and plan to let my neice move into my old house RENT Free. If my neice puts the utilities into her name, will this affect me when it comes to filing my income tax. I do not want it to look like I am receiving Rent., because I won't be. She would be homeless if I did not try to help her and her children.

I do not think the IRS is into checking what names utilities are in, YET. However, your tax return is what it is and if you tell the truth there is nothing to worry about.
