Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

My siblings and I own undivided interests in 1000 acres. If we survey and split the land, does all share in the costs.

You can only do that if all persons agree to the split, or you get a court to order the partition. If everyone agrees, then of course they split the cost. If the court orders the split, most likely the court will order the costs split equally. However, if the property cannot be split into equal parcels, then either they property is sold and the money split according to each person's interest in the property, or everyone continues to own their individual undivided interest. If there are 5 of you, it does not mean each of you own 200 acres, it means each of you own 20% of 1000 acres.
