Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
If you sign a lease agreement for an apt and on the same day (a couple hours later) decide to cancel it due to not feeling safe in the neighborhood. Called and told him the same day. Can the landlord sue you for the whole lease amount and deposit. He doesn't have my social security number either.

You are liable for the lease from the second you sign it, so he can sue you for lost rent. However, the landlord has a duty to mitigate his damages by trying to re-rent the apartment. Once he gets another tenant in there, your obligation to pay rent is done.
