Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana
Termite Coverage
My house has had termite coverage with a certain company for over 50 years. I have found termites in the house and contacted the company numerous times about termite damage. I recently had to replace the entire roof. I only asked the termite company to pay for 1/2 of the damage due to termites according to our roofer ($1500). It cost me $16,000 to replace the termite infested roof. They said if they were to pay anything the contract would be voided. First of all, I don't understand how you get termites in a house after over 50 years of coverage. Do I have a case for retribution of all costs due to the termite damage?

Re: Termite Coverage
It depends on the contract. You need to get it to an attorney who can advise you on how to proceed.
