Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

My wife and I leased our house on a month to month basis. We added the comment that it was a year lease, which owners had the option to renew. We meant by this that the lease was month to month for a year. We want to evict after 6 months. Did we mess up adding the year lease comment?
