Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Louisiana

Harassment that lead to termination

I'm a secretary at a branch company of a much larger corporation. I have been sexually harassed by my supervisor for a couple of months now and recently I stepped forward. I wrote out a statement and had a meeting with the pres and vice president of the company. The supervisor agreed to what he done, but he said it was mutual (which it wasn't). By, the end of the night, I got a phone call saying that they are closing the company. They have not addressed my claim as of yet. Can they do that?

Re: Harassment that lead to termination

Nobody can stop the company from closing their doors, but the company is still liable for its debts and liabilities. Moreover, with sexual harassment claims, the individual who harassed you is usually held personally liable for any judgment.
