Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Louisiana
Sexual Harrasment at school by an instructor
I am a female student. My female instructor has consistently made derogatory comments about the type of clothes I wear even though I dress with in code and my instructor's boss has ok'd my clothes. My instructor has asked my male co-students if they think I have on underwear, told them my shirt looked like a bra, asked me if I am pregnant in front of everyone, she always walks behind me and constantly looks at my breasts when talking to me. She has exposed her cleavage to me in an attempt to ''show me what inappropriate clothing is.'' She has accused me of ''stimulating the 6yo little boys I work with.'' She told the other students that in post conference she would ''make it to where she (me)would not want to come back (to school).'' I have complained verbaly and in writing and her bosses did not do anything until I said I was getting an attorney. The dean and administration for my school have validated my ''ligitament complaints.'' This instructor has a track record of other problems with students in the past, I don't know what kind. As a result of her behavior, my dean told me to not attend the last day of clinical with her ''because I am not learning anything anyway dealing with this.'' Should I take this to court?

Re: Sexual Harrasment at school by an instructor
No one can tell you what you should or should not take to court. However, if your instructor's behavior was offensive to you and after informing the powers that be of it and they did nothing, your only recourse might be to file a
harassment suit. I am at somewhat of a loss to understand how she is your instructor yet you interact with 6 year olds. You should seek legal consultation with an attorney versed in this type of suit so he can obtain all the details of your situation.
