Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Louisiana

Subordinate Retaliation

One of my subordinates started telling his coworkers that he was my boyfriend and that he loved me. He even said this to customers in my presence. This upset me and I asked him to stop on numerous occasions. I am a happily married woman. I finally told him that what he was doing was a form of sexual harrasment. He acted cool the rest of the day. The next morning, he presented a letter to my manager claiming that I have been sexually harrassing him and causing a hostile work environment. Now, there is going to be an investigation and this will be a part of my permanent employee record. I feel that he is retaliating against me for my comment about his actions being a form of sexual harassment. He has a friend at work that will be happy to lie for him. I could actually be demoted or lose my job over this situation. Can you believe this?

Re: Subordinate Retaliation

Yes, I can believe it, but I don't believe that this is the question that you want answered. That question is, "What do I do now?"

The answer must be that you will contact a lawyer experienced in these matters on Monday to discuss the accusation and preferrably hire one very soon to represent you.
