Legal Question in Tax Law in Louisiana

There're two ways to file Louisiana state income tax, either with paperwork or efiling. In order to qualify for free efiling (under LA revenus department), one has to file tax with Louisiana before. Since I moved to LA this year, I am not qualified. If I filed with paper forms, the refund will be in form of debit card with Chase, which I strongly dislike. There's no reason for me to give my personal information to Chase and create an account merely for the refund I am entitled to get. In order to avoid that, I will have to pay for etax software to file tax. In conclusion, I have to choose between unnecessary personal information disclosure for a government service and being forced to spend money. Isn't it against anti-trust?

No but it is frustrating. You should go to or contact the Department of Revenue and see if there is a way to avoid paying for efiling, for hardship purposes.
