Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana
I was driving in the rain on my way to work. My car hydroplaned and I hit the guardrail on an interstate. The police office gave me ticket for "careless operation" instead of "failed to maintain control of vehicle". Was he accurate? Which one affects my driving record most?

Careless operation is a much more serious offense. I would suggest you get an attorney for that. It can seriously affect your driving record and your insurance if you are found guilty of careless operation, not to mention the stiff fine.
