Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana
Can I go to jail for backing into someone's car? The other party filed a hit and run with the police. No one was in the car, so no one was hurt, there was only light damage to their car.

Not unless there were extenuating circumstances. You are supposed to stop and render aid if you strike a car. You need to provide your insurance information, etc.
