Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana

I received a speeding ticket today while exiting the interstate from the off ramp. The speed limit on the stretch of interstate was 60 mph, and I received a ticket for going 58mph in a 45mph zone. There were no speed limit signs posted and I had not yet reached the traffic light at the end of the long off ramp. What is the speed limit on off-ramps when no sign is posted? Will this be a contestable ticket in court?

Some speeds are universal in the state if no other speed is posted. 45 on an off-ramp, 25 on a residential street, 35 on a divided highway, 55 on the interstate within city limits, 65 on the interstate outside city limits, etc. (and those are from memory, so don't hold me to all of them). It's like turning right on red or not parking in front of a fire hydrant. There is a default by law unless there is some sign saying otherwise. So, the ticket probably was technically valid. Still, it sounds like something the DA would probably work with you or your attorney to resolve and keep your driving record clean. I would seriously recommend hiring an attorney for that one.
