Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana
what is the timeline for a ticket to be paid after recieving it

Most traffic tickets have a Court Date written on them. If you pay before that day, you are not late.
If the charge is for a moving violation (especially if it is for something like speeding or running a red light), you may want to browse this site and find an attorney in your area that handles traffic tickets (I am not in your area, but Mr. Casanave, who responded to your question, appears to be) about fighting the ticket. The true cost of a speeding ticket is not the amount of the fine, it is the increased insurance rates you end up paying for the next 5-10 years as a result of being convicted for a moving violation. I would seriously consider emailing him or another lawyer near you before just pleading guilty.
