Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana
wrong date on citation
If a traffic cop issues me a traffic citation with the wrong date on it, can the citation be dismissed in court? The citation was for having a brake light burned out or no brake lights, the code he used covers both.

Re: wrong date on citation
If you want to go to court twice, arraignment and trial, for a non-moving ticket that will not go on your driving record, you have the right to fight this ticket. You may find that there are better uses for your valuable time.
If you repair your brake lights the prosecutor may agree to dismiss the ticket because you solved the real problem.
