Legal Question in Traffic Law in Louisiana

Yielding the Right-of-way

My girlfriend and I were driving in the car on a street where we had the right of way. We were traveling at about 45 mph. There were two cars at a stop sign waiting to turn. She slowed down by about 20 mph and waved at the front vehicle to make its left turn. I said it was illegal, dangerous, and unsafe for the drivers behind us. She said she was doing a good deed. Is it illegal to yield the right-of-way?

It can be dangerous and, yes, it can be illegal to stop in the road when you do not have a stop sign. You could receive a ticket for impeding traffic and could also be found at fault (or at least partially at fault) if a following car is unable to stop and hits you.
