Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

my 23yr. old son got killed and has a small sum of $3400 in the bank and i tried to get and i am his mother he lived with me unmarried but has a 5 yr.old what can be done, i refuse to let his money that he worked hard for and was saving for a car go back to the state , it's not fair i brought all the legal documents needed but was still unsuccesful

You need to file succession. If he did not own any property, you can use the "small succession" affidavit to file, which is MUCH cheaper and easier. His son would be his heir.
