Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My aunt died on april 1 2015 she had no kids she had no will. Her living relatives are 3 nieces and two nephews. She own 2 houses and property. She left money in the bank.Are the nieces and nephews entitled to her possessions.

Assuming the nieces and nephews are in the same line, the would be the equal heirs of the aunt's property. Any one of the nieces or nephews may open her intestate (without will) succession
