Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

I am the beneficiary of a lamp from a will that my uncle composed and he recently died. While he was alive he promised he would leave me money when he died. Can I contest the will, being only one of two remaining living relatives so that I can be left money? What would I have to do to be able to get money in addition to the lamp? If I have to prove something, what would I have to prove and how could I prove it?
