Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

I was contacted by an heir search agency notifying me that I may be the only heir to an estate for what I think is a great uncle. I feel as though they are being sneaky by not giving me or my siblings any definitive info in the case until we sign an agreement letting them pursue. My problem is that they are working under contingency of 1/3 of the total inheritance. I have no idea how large or little of a sum we are talking, but I have a feeling it is a large sum if they are pursuing. Anyway I need advise on what to do here. Should I allow them to pursue or if I have enough info to pursue myself, what all would be involved in this type of situation. Oh, and I forgot to mention, there was no will, I believe he lived and died in Nebraska. (Death of 9/2010)

The best thing to do is contact an attorney in state where relative resided. In Louisiana attorneys are not allowed to work on contingency basis for successions. If you have enough information to begin your own investigation, I would not sign anything.
