Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
my dad didn't leave a will. his wife (who never cared for us) is asking that my sisters and i sign over all real and personal property. she is poor mouthing and offered us a small amount for our signature. my question is how do i find out if there are finances as well as other property the she is scheming to exempt us from by asking us to renounce our shares. she is asking that we sign a soon as possible. i think she is expecting a law suit that my dad said that he was waiting

Your father's property goes to you, as his child. Your mother may get usufruct over the property, but you will own it. You need to talk to an attorney immediately. My best advice is DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until you have spoken to an attorney.
