Most wills will specify a "universal" or "residual" heir, who will inherit all of the deceased property, or all property which is not otherwise doled out by the will. If that is not done, the property is doled out according to intestate rules of inheritance. Usually, the children inherit and their may be a usufruct in favor of the surviving spouse.
