Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
I am the executor or my deceased father's estate. I have also been willed the real estate that he had. Currenty there is a mortgage on that property. I would like to get the mortgage in my name in an effort to secure more control over the payment. is this something i can do?

Yes, if the lender is willing to do that. You would have to qualify using your own credit.
Read over the original mortgage and see if it contains any language which addresses this situation.
