Re: Family Property
Is it too late to go to court and determine who owns what shares of the house? Probably not. In fact, at some point in time, if the house is still worth anything, whenever the house is put up for sale/needs to be sold, a succession will almost certainly need to be done on at least your father's estate. Did your aunt pass away already too? If so, was her succession done for her interest in the property? Was your mother married to your father at the time of his death? Did your father leave a will? Did your father have any other children besides you and your sister?
There are quite a few questions that need to be answered to determine the best way to approach your legal matter. I suggest you make an appointment to consult an attorney to discuss your rights and options. It may cost you something for the consultation but it will probably be money well spent as you will then know exactly what can and cannot be done and what you may have inherited or not...
Good Luck.
