Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My father died in Dec 2008. He had a will that was determined legal. The lawyer who handled the succession neglected to list 2 pieces of property in the succession even though he had both deeds to the land. We have brought this to his attention and given him the deeds again. He has not amended the will or done anything to this date. What can I do and how do I get the will amended? The property is in Mississippi and our lawyer was retained in New Orleans, LA. Am I obligated to pay him again for his mistake? The succesion was filed in May 2009 in St. Charles Parish, La. Can I report him for doing this?

It sounds as if the attorney may have done nothing wrong. If the property is in MS, you must open an ancillary succession in MS to adjudicate that property. You need an attorney in MS to do that. The attorney here in LA should help by obtaining the Act of Congress and shipping the required documents to MS, but he can't file anything in MS unless he is admitted to practice there.
