Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My father died 23 years ago and his estate was never probated. His house has been rented since then but we want to sell it now. There are only 2 children from his only marriage. How much will it cost to go through the process of getting the deed transferred to our names? Thanks.

You may be get the house sold through a fairly new process called "succession by affidavit." This process avoids court costs and most attorney fees. It is a two-page affidavit that you and your sibling would sign and record, a title would be transferred into your names.

I usually charge clients $500 to prepare this documents.
