A father died over 30 years ago, succession was never opened. The mother recently died. There is only one heir (daughter). Does succession have to be opened for both?

If they owned property together, both succession have to be opened, but that can be done in a single proceeding.

If no co-ownership then just mother's succession would have to be opened.
