Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

my father passed away 3/29/10. my step mother is opening succession. my father's will has that i am to receive 25,000. what is the time frame for the payment? can she make a schedule or will the total amount need to be paid. She has annuities and IRAs that the funds can be paid from.

There are a number of questions that need to be answered and the will would need to be reviewed. Who is the administrator/trix? Was your stepmother given usufruct over all of the property or only their community property? Was there separate property?, etc. You should get copies of everything-will, succession petition, etc and bring them to an attorney.
