Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
my grandmother passed away in 2006 shortly after Hurricane Katrina. She did not have a will and had 4 living children. It was very difficult trying to get the estate settled and it still has not been settled. My father was one of those living children and had passed on also. Do I have a legal right to his portion of my grandmother's estate.

You father's children split his 25% equally unless he had a will. If you are the only child, then you own what your daddy owned and can take whatever steps he would have to end the succession.
