my grandson's father was killed in afghanistan on july 4th, his father was his beneficiary, elijah was not included in will, elijah's parents have never been married, dna test proved he was his father, he never paid child support but had contacted elijah for the past 4 months or so & had been talking to him, is elijah entitled to any monies or property of deceased father, he lived down around ft polk, la where he was stationed, his father & family are from bossier city, la where father was from

If Elijah is under 23 years of age, he cannot be disinherited from his father's succession. However, he only has a right to whatever property his dad owned or left in his possession at his death. Life insurance is usually left to a named beneficiary. That belongs to that beneficiary.
