Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
My husbands mother passed away last week. He was told there is a will with his brother and his brother's wife named as executors. A copy of the will was refused by the supposed executors.
The assets include a home worth approximately $600k and the deceased's personal possessions, including the contents of the home. There are supposed to be 5 heirs listed in the will including my husband.
If the other heirs wish to delay the succession process can he take steps to move the process forward at the earliest possible opportunity?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If the will names an Executor, that is the person who would contact an attorney about opening the succession.
A week would be pretty early to do this. There are usually some emotional issues involved. I would give them a few weeks to get started.
