Inheritance on medical malpractice settlement?

My Father died after my Grandmother. My Father's siblings were notified that the hospital caring for my Grandmother was found neglagent by the hospital board. The hospital is going to offer a settlement. Would my Brother and I recieve our Father's share of this settlement? Or would there be a share since he died before she did?
