Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
Joint Will
My father and stepmother made a will listing me as a beneficiary if they both die. My father passed away in Texas after being there a couple of months. My stepmother tells me she is going to make a new will including her sons. Can I contest the will? Can she do this? Do I call Louisiana or Texas regarding the will? Does Louisiana law have anything in it regarding the children? (49yrs old) Should I persue this?

Re: Joint Will
I don't know what state she's in but as long as she is sane she probably has the right to change her will.
This should have no effect on your father's property, only on hers.
Re: Joint Will
You should the engage the services of an experienced estate attorney and have the laws of the appropriate jurisdiction researched. You should do this immediately as there may be certain laws that set time limits in which you have to file any challenges or claims.
