Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Is it to late to contest a Will / Please help

My father died 1 year 8 months ago and when he did he had a will. After he died we would ask our step mother about the will and the secession. She kept putting us off until one day we went to see a lawyer months after he passed. He pulled my fathers will and noticed that the will as stated from my father that my father had signed all pages front and back. Well after viewing the will from the court house this was not true. The very first page is not sign. We also noticed that the will looked as if something had been inserted in the will. The Lawyer said that the will was fatally flawed. After visiting with my siblings they decide that they did not want to do anything because they did not want to bring all of this to court. After thinking hard about this Im very interested in making the will right. Im not looking to take everything from my step mother because she worked for this also. But after my father died she sold one of the homes that they both owned that were in the will and she has not distributed the money amongst the hires. I guess my biggest question is (is it to later after 1.8 years.) have I exceeded the time limit. And is it to late to do anything about this matter. OH I live in Louisiana if this makes a difference

Dear LawGuru Freind,

No, it is not too late to do anything that you could have done shortly after your father died. Nevertheless, there is no need to wait any longer. Act now to protect your own interests! There are time limitations on certain things concerning wills and estates in Louisiana, but none of them has expired. Act now, however! Good luck!

Sincerely,

The discovery of fraud overrides many time limits. Contact a lawyer about reopening the matter.
