Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Legal Will

My husband was dying of cancer and he signed his will on Dec. 1, 2005. A notary had told me he would sign it and would call me back. He never called me back and my husband died on Dec.21. I have two witnesses that signed the will. It is a will that I got off the internet and paid 20.00 of it. A lawyer told me it was not valid because the notary had not been there in person to sign it and he would not notarize it. Please help me.

Re: Legal Will

What the lawyer told you is correct. The will is not valid unless it was signed in the presence of a notary, and the will cannot be notarized since your husband is deceased.
