Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Louisiana couple married over fifty years, and still married. They have property and some money. They are still living and have four natural children from this marriage, all adults. They have made a will and nothing will be done until the time of the death of the parents. Is it possible for these parents to disinherit one of these children because they do not get along or like this particular child?

Yes, as long as that child is not a forced heir. A forced heir is a chaild who has not attained the age of 24, or who is disabled to the point that the child cannot support himself.

They can give the property to whomever they want as long as all the children are over 23 and not mentally deficient. And even if 1 child is under 23, ONLY that child could claim a very small percentage.
