Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
oversee will
my child's grandfather left stocks and bonds for him in his will. My ex husband was set as to oversee the will and ended up spending all the money that was left for my son. What is the role of an overseer and is this against the law that he spent the money left for my son?

Re: oversee will
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Overseer". If this is a Louisiana estate then I imagine that you mean either "executor" (the person who manages the estate until the property is distributed to the heirs) or "tutor" (the manager of a minor's property until adulthood). If so, those persons have an obligation to manage the property prudently. Consult an attorney as your child's parent about what can be done.
If the property is not in Louisiana, consult an attorney in the state where the property is located or the state where the will was probated.
