Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Both of my parents are deceased & my sister & i inherited land & there home. she & 3 of her children are living in the house for free & i can't get her to buy my part of the house. i have paid the taxes on the property last year. what options do i have. she says she can't get approved for a loan to at least buy me out on the house. i want to keep my share of the land. i just don't want my name associated with hers on legal documents.

In Louisiana, you can not be forced to own property with others. So, you can petition the court to have the property sold and the proceeds disbursed. You will not be able to sell the house and land it is placed on separately unless the home is a mobile home. If there is acreage along with the home and land it is on, perhaps you could trade the house and lot for the remaining acreage.
