Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

I am reluctant to provide my SS# for Succession documents since they will be filed for record for everyone to see. As an heir, is it absolutely necessary to provide my Social Security No.? Also do all heirs need to be present at the succession to sign any documents?
