Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

rights of children of deceased parent

My husband's father passed away in Nov.1999. His step mother

said there was a will. But no one has seen it.She has never put Mr.George's death through the court or filed a copy of the will in the court. She will not see or speak to any of the the children. Nor will she allow them to visit the home of there father ,his ashes are on the fireplace mantal.Jean,

the stepmother and HER son and the sons girlfriend live in the home. My husband only wants to know if there was a will

and what it said.Mr. George's children have the right to know what his wishes were. If you can help us we would be most grateful. We don't have thousands of dollars to send on lawers. We have spoken to a couple of lawers who wanted at least 1,800.00 before we could find out anything.

Thanks,

R.Pipher

Where in La. did he live? Who was his attorney? Did he own real estate in La., if so a succession would have to be done.
