Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

We were trying to do a secession, in order to sell a mobile home in Louisiana. But when the lawyer saw we had only a copy of the will, she said we had to start all over. How do you start over, when you don't have anything else to start over with? The original can not be find.
