Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Can I sign away my legal rights?

One week after my friends husband died, her brother-in-law convinced her to sign a paper giving her legal right as beneficiary of her husbands will to him. She was distraught at the time. Does she have any legal right to have that paper overturned so that she can recieve what was rightfully hers to begin with? A large sum of money was involved. It seems to me she was taken advantage of in a most tramatic time.

She should be able to have whatever she signed overturned as it appears this was done under duress.
