Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

In the state of Louisiana my mother and step father own a home together. She passed away in 1989, he still lives in the house. He has 2 children and my mother has 3 children. When he passes away how will this property be divided and can my siblings share in this property without including me?

Much depends on any will left by your mother. However, one half of property should pass to you and your siblings. Since there will presumably 5 total heirs-3 for your mothers half and two on your stepfather-the property will probably have to be sold unless one heir buys others out.
